"We purchased our Haven Bunkie in the spring of 2023. We had absolutely no issues with shipping or loading or unloading. The truck came exactly on the date and time it said it would. It was a very exciting day for us. Our son-in-law Chris Built the sturdy foundation out of cement blocks and 7 x 7's. Our plan was to have him build the Bunkie in exchange for me getting to watch my three beautiful grandchildren.
Working on and off I would guess that it took Chris maybe a week to build it. Staining it took longer than building it. I took some of the decor from a cabin we own that is full of antiques and family memories/ furniture. I even had a friend of mine, build some shelves with deer antlers to hold them in place.
After the first spring, we decided to have some stairs built up to our house which sits directly above the bunkie. We spent all four seasons of 2024 enjoying our family at the Bunkie and lakefront that we own. We also purchased the kit for a bathroom aptly named The Betty which is my mom's name .. we installed a composting toilet and it works great! We plan to have a sink and hopefully an outdoor shower in the future ... many guests have stayed in the bunkie, relatives and friends. We love having our spot on Lake Superior and my son in law even built a raft which we put in last summer.
I plan to purchase another bunkie next spring to use as an art studio as well as for sleeping and having extra room for family and friends. We have always owned the property that our bunkie sits on but now we actually spend time using the lakefront and enjoy the sights and scenes all around.. esp the beautiful sunsets .. thanks Bunkie Life for providing the ultimate bunkie kits and for your vision to create spaces for families to spend more time together!"
