When Hurricane Mellissa tore through Jamaica, a fraction of the island was hit hard. On this trip, we drove down to Falmouth, Trelawny to check on our Airbnb/short-term rental property and what we saw along the way broke our hearts.

From fallen light poles and downed trees to gas lines stretching for miles, communities across the coast are still trying to pick up the pieces.
There was no signal in many areas, and people gathered on the roadside just to get a bar of service and call their loved ones.

This vlog is a glimpse into what life looks like after the storm. The uncertainty, the hunger, the lack and the faith it takes to rebuild. We didn’t get to finish cleaning before it got dark, but one thing’s for sure… we’re grateful to still have something to rebuild. ????????
