Smooth and lethal gunfighter Lee Calloway, also known as Sartana, forms an alliance with the treacherous outlaw Douglas brothers to retrieve hidden gold from an earlier robbery. They agree to break out of jail in exchange for half of the stolen gold, but the outlaws betray Calloway, leaving him to die in the desert. After being rescued by Esther, who initially nurses him back to health but ultimately tricks him for a reward, Calloway finds himself entangled in a web of deception and greed as he pursues the stolen gold.
