Rates!! The massive climb in mortgage rates were the big story of 2022. The doubling of mortgage interest rates in a short period of time did in fact significantly slow buyer demand. The amount of home transactions are down 30+ percent from this time when last year.
While this can sound negative, it has really helped neutralize the housing market back into a normal market.
