Nine people were injured in a shooting early Sunday at a large rental home in Bath Township, Ohio, where teenagers had gathered for a social media-promoted birthday party.

The police described the scene as chaotic, with some people fleeing while first responders provided emergency care.

It is unclear whether all nine were shot, as one injury may have been from a fall, and no arrests have been made.

The home, rented via Airbnb, violated local zoning rules banning short-term rentals, and the victims included both juveniles and adults, The Guardian has reported.

Airbnb suspended the listing and the renter’s account, condemning the violence and cooperating with police, while authorities continue investigating the cause of the shooting.
