It looks like it could fly, but this model that never left Earth is the original 1972 design mock-up for NASA’s space shuttles. The prototype is being transported in pieces down the street from a city maintenance yard to a renovation center in Downey, where it will eventually go on display at the Columbia Memorial Space Center.
