Nestled between the Atlantic Forest and the rugged coastline of Ubatuba, Brazil, lies the Z.C. Residence, a minimalist masterpiece designed by Klam Arquitetura. This single-family beach house embraces open and integrated living, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors with expansive glass walls. Architect Anderson Muniz, himself a surfer drawn to the area's natural beauty, prioritized practicality and comfort for a large family.
The heart of the home lies in its seamless connection to the surrounding environment. The ground floor kitchen spills effortlessly onto the outdoor area, creating a unified space perfect for indoor-outdoor gatherings. A repurposed Angico Preto tree trunk, transformed into a unique staircase by designer Hugo França, adds a touch of nature's artistry to the interior.
Sustainability plays a key role in the design. A metallic structure ensures fast construction and light, airy lines, while sawed marble floors provide a non-slip, quick-drying surface ideal for a beach house. Upstairs, bedrooms and the home theater feature warm wooden accents, beautifully complemented by dimmable lighting.
In the basement, hidden functionality reigns. An engine room and cisterns house the photovoltaic panels, solar heating, and rainwater reuse systems, making the Z.C. Residence an eco-conscious haven. This stunning home seamlessly blends modern design with natural elements, creating a comfortable and sustainable sanctuary for a family to enjoy the best of beachside living.
