Casa la Roca is a luxurious and forward-looking project located in Morelia, Mexico. The construction involved the architectural challenge of harmoniously integrating the house into a complex natural environment - rugged rock mountains. To achieve this, two levels were built into the rock while the third was suspended from wall columns. The visual result simulates a suspension, as if the house were floating in the air. The home also involves a significant eco-friendly focus. It has a glass facade which, together with a carefully considered orientation towards the sun, means it makes full use of light and heat to provide a natural heating system. Additionally, it has a water recycling mechanism, solar panels, and complete home automation installation. The terrain is in the middle of Jack Nicklaus' 27 hole golf course, within a 6 hectare Makro site for just 10 homes and the site has an individual surface of 7,500 m². The land is formed by a large rock formation 100 meters wide and up to 30 meters high, dominating the view of 24 green plants and 270 degree views, both from the edge of the city, as well as the countryside, valleys and mountains. from the environment. 90% of the soil used for house floors is solid rock. The concept of this residence is to create a dominant house with personality, which sits and hangs on a large rock, the residence must be bold but light. 100% respects the environment and its rock formations, integrating them into the project as much as possible. The house is designed on the rock and on the outskirts. The construction on the top floor has a clear span of 26 meters, with support beams no more than 70 cm. and try never to have supports in the corners or around the perimeter, this way the house will look fragile, light and hanging. All this large volume of the upper floor rests on the rock at one end and at the other through tucked wall columns and is covered with black glass so that it disappears at night and becomes slightly visible and bright during the day. On the ground floor, a self-contained social area is planned with a pool, terrace and fire pit set in stone. The residence has a 90 meter long facade that achieves the best views throughout the project as well as the right orientation for the indoor climate. The distribution of the house is designed to be very comfortable despite its size and has a heart with home services: garage, service, kitchen, dining room, family room, terrace breakfast and a nice garden from the risk of rocky formations. In one wing of the house there are bedrooms each with terrace and with beautiful views and in the other wing the social area leaves it in the most special viewpoint with a panoramic view of 270 degrees. All of the home's finishes were carefully chosen to have the sensation of incorporating the land into the home, the colors chosen are intended to blend in with the surroundings and leave just the space to speak for itself. The house has facilities that respect the environment such as water recycling, solar energy for water heating and power generation, sophisticated, yet easy-to-use systems: lighting control, curtains, sound, video, surveillance, locks, pumping equipment, automation, etc.
