Karen from the HOA rented out my house while I was on vacation!
I went on a long-awaited vacation—two weeks at the beach, warm sea, no worries.
Everything was perfect… until I came back home.
When I opened the door, I saw strangers living in my house!
— Who are you, and what are you doing in MY house?! — I exclaimed.
— We’re renting this house! We paid Karen for a whole month, — the man calmly replied.
I was in shock.
Karen. Of course, it was Karen.
I stormed over to her:
— YOU RENTED OUT MY HOUSE?!
— Well, you were gone, and an empty house is such a waste, — she replied smugly. — This
way, it’s actually useful!
I didn’t waste time and called the police, because she had no right to rent out my property.
In the end, the court ordered her to pay me compensation for emotional distress and the
illegal rental. Now she’s too afraid to even look in my direction, and I always double-check
my house before going on vacation!
