In fact, the success rate for real estate agents is staggeringly low, and statistics published by the National Association of REALTORS® tell the story:

• 33% of newly licensed agents quit real estate after their first year

• 87% of agents leave the business within their first 5 years

• 89% of all transactions are handled by only 11% of agents in the United States

Clearly, these numbers indicate that the vast majority of real estate agents are not generating enough business to stay in the industry. This is due in large part to training being overly focused on client & business servicing tasks, rather than income producing activities. In other words, agents are not being effectively trained on how to generate business, most real estate training programs are geared towards how to handle business they don’t yet have.
