This accessory dwelling unit in Portland is built out of two converted shipping containers and includes some onsite custom construction between them to create a raised loft space.
It is a unique combination of off-site prefab using single use shipping containers and onsite custom work. The cost is about the same as on site custom, but it a got some cool factor that the developer thinks will help him rent it out at a premium.
Also the prefab elements led to less on site disruption which is nice for the tenants of the primary home next door.
The company that did this prefab work is called Relevant Buildings and they’re based out of Oregon City OR - https://www.relevantbuildings.com
