Keanu Reeves never had formal acting training, never attended elite schools, and had no family connections in Hollywood. His mother worked as a costume designer, while his father walked out when Keanu was still a child.
Because of dyslexia, he switched schools constantly and eventually dropped out altogether. Before breaking into movies, the future star worked as a waiter, a mover, and even a skating-rink janitor — all to save up for acting classes.
“I mopped floors, cleaned the ice, and saved every cent. I wasn’t a good student, but I always wanted to act,” Reeves recalled.
